I composed and arranged “No. 24” as part of Big Wy’s Brass Band’s second EP Lord Dope released in 2019. The composition features a middle Afro-Cuban-inspired groove section co-written by Wyatt Corder and Chase Ozment. “No. 24” has been played across Texas, on tour in Latin America, and was featured in the TEDxYouth@Austin conference in 2018.
On our multiple recordings of the song, “No.24” has featured the following soloists: Wyatt Corder (trumpet), Miles Holmes (mellophone), Thomas Wenglinski (piano), Juliana Silveira (piano), Brady Knippa (percussion/drums), Chase Ozment (percussion/drums), and myself (trumpet).
